Hugh Jackman joins 'Kingsman' veterans for Olympic biopic
British ski-jumper Eddie "The Eagle" Edwards and his unlikely 1988 bid for Olympic glory will be the subject of a biopic produced by "Kingsman" director Matthew Vaughn. Taron Egerton makes his breakthrough as the lead in the near-imminent action film "Kingsman: The Secret Service" and has roles in 2015's Vera Brittain adaptation "The Testament of Youth" and crime thriller "Legend" from "Mystic River" and "L.A. Confidential" writer Brian Helgeland. He's thought to be in the hotseat as Eddie Edwards, who ended up competing as Britain's first ever participating ski-jumper at Calgary's 1988 Winter Olympics.
